Otim 67-57 Blick

Semifinals:

Otim 55-51 Koma

Kami 55-58 Blick

The ‘Sixth coming’ finale lived up to the hype on Friday night as the off-season craze came to a dramatic end at the YMCA Outdoor Court in Wandegeya.

The mammoth crowd that had names like Winnie Nwangi, celebrated radio personality Alex Ndawula and former miss Uganda Fiona Bizzu, was treated to more than just basketball.

From the shooting challenge to the mystery box challenge that saw FUBA referee Raymond Muhumuza win a refrigerator and a crate of castle lite.

Sounds of Irene Ntale then sent the crowd into the part mood as the team from the media took on a select team of Kampala celebrities.

Otim hits milestone; Jonah Otim and his friends left the YMCA court 3 million richer after defeating team Blick 67-57 in the final.

Led by Otim himself, the side overcame team Koma 55-51 in the semifinals before brushing team Blick aside in the championship game.

Otim failed to win a single game in the group stages but won when it mattered most. Brian Odur had a team high 23 points in the final while Otim contributed 14.

Sudi Ulanga’s game high 26 points were not enough as the Norman Blick led side fell in the final for the second time having lost to team Amoding last year.

For finishing second, team Blick went home with 2 million shillings on top of the 300,000 shillings they won from the semis.
